Short answer: it depends on what your constraint is. If you need one senior sales hire in a European market where the candidates are not looking — a Country Manager, a Head of Sales, a technical Area Sales Manager — JN Recruitment is the strongest choice on this list, because it specialises in exactly that and publishes what its placements did. If you need twenty people across five functions in eight countries, Hays or Michael Page will serve you better than any specialist here, and we say so plainly below. If your market is Central and Eastern Europe, Antal has the widest physical network.
Technical Sales Board is operated by JN Recruitment. This page ranks agencies for sales roles and says where the large generalists are the better answer. Every figure comes from the named agency's own website, checked on 20 September 2026. No agency is given a score.

The real question: capacity or shortlist?
Most comparisons of European recruitment agencies rank by size, which answers a question almost nobody is actually asking. The useful split is what is stopping you from hiring.
- 1
If capacity is the constraint
Many roles, several functions, multiple countries, one procurement process. A generalist with local entities and thousands of consultants is built for exactly this. Hays states 30 countries and 10,000+ employees; Antal states 130 offices in 35+ countries. No specialist on this page can match that.
- 2
If the shortlist is the constraint
One senior role, a technical product, and candidates who are not applying to anything. Here the size of the agency is irrelevant and the size of the right desk is everything. What matters is whether someone already knows which competitor field teams to call.
- 3
If the market is the constraint
You are hiring in a country where you have no entity, no brand recognition and nobody who speaks the language. Then ask who makes the approach calls, in which language, from where — and treat any answer that is a list of countries as a no.
The honest position is that these are different products sold under the same word. The rest of this page ranks for the second case, because that is the case where the choice of agency changes the outcome most.
JN Recruitment — best for technical and industrial sales roles

One discipline, one region: technical and industrial sales roles in European markets — Country Managers, Heads of Sales, Sales Managers, Area and Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers and Technical Sales Engineers, for manufacturers in machinery, industrial technology, energy, recycling, logistics and safety technology.
Against every generalist on this page it is tiny. Against every agency on this page it publishes more about its own results.

The two published case studies show the brief it is built for: a Swedish air-treatment specialist needing a DACH sales engineer in a technology with no active candidates, filled in 14 weeks; and a Swedish safety-equipment manufacturer needing someone to run Poland alone, shortlisted in 10 working days. Both are single senior hires in markets the client had not yet entered.
Strengths
- The only agency here that recruits technical sales exclusively and only in Europe
- Publishes interview rate, twelve-month retention and time-to-hire
- Searches run in seven languages from offices in Germany, Poland and Cyprus
- Named case studies with named clients and dates
Limitations
- Tiny next to Hays, Michael Page or Antal — wrong choice for volume
- Sales only: no finance, HR, IT or engineering desks
- Europe only
- Two published case studies against 50+ placements
First call for a senior technical or industrial sales hire in a European market. If your brief is twenty roles across five functions, stop reading here and call a generalist — that is genuinely the better answer.
Hays — the widest reach and the most capacity

Hays states 30 countries covered, more than 10,000 employees, 57 years of experience and 21 specialisms. For a company hiring across several functions and countries at once, that combination is close to unbeatable: local entities, established procurement processes, contractor management and managed service programmes, and a consultant available in nearly every market you name.
The 21 specialisms are the limit for our purposes. They span accounting and finance, human resources, IT, construction, pharmaceuticals and technology — and none of them is technical sales in industrial manufacturing. A vacuum pump territory brief will be handled competently by someone whose other live roles are in different fields entirely.
Strengths
- 30 countries covered with local entities
- 10,000+ employees — capacity for large, parallel mandates
- 57 years in the market; mature procurement and compliance processes
- Full service range from permanent to MSP and contractor management
Limitations
- No technical or industrial sales specialism among the 21 named
- No placement, retention or time-to-hire data published
- Depth per niche is necessarily thinner than a specialist desk
The right answer when capacity, geography and procurement maturity are what you need. Not the sharpest instrument for one hard technical sales seat.
Michael Page — strong commercial desks across functions

Part of PageGroup, organised into more than 28 named specialisms. It publishes more about outcomes than most generalists: 98% of its candidates would work with it again, and it helped over 4,000 businesses hire last year.
One structural detail is worth knowing before you brief them on a technical sales role. Michael Page lists Sales as one specialism and Engineering & Manufacturing as another. A technical sales role belongs to both and sits fully in neither — which is exactly the gap a specialist desk exists to cover.
Strengths
- Over 28 named specialisms including dedicated Sales desks
- Publishes candidate satisfaction and client volume figures
- Broad European and UK regional coverage
- Established brand recognition with candidates
Limitations
- Sales and Engineering are separate desks; technical sales falls between them
- No placement, retention or time-to-hire figures published
- No sales-engineering specialism named
A solid choice for commercial hiring across functions, especially in the UK. For a role that needs engineering literacy in the seller, check which desk would actually own it.
Mase Consulting — specialist depth, UK delivery

Nine industrial sectors, four disciplines and fifteen European countries claimed, delivered from Manchester and Bedford. Genuinely specialist in technical sales and engineering, with the widest sector list in this comparison — and the same evidence gap as most of the field: no placement, retention or time-to-hire data published.
Strengths
- Real technical sales specialisation across nine industrial sectors
- Contingency, retained and embedded talent team models
- Salary benchmarking and behavioural assessments offered
Limitations
- Two UK offices; continental Europe covered remotely
- No own outcome data published
- Sales shares the desk with engineering, operations and marketing
European Tech Recruit — the deep-tech commercial specialist

Five European offices plus San Francisco, covering semiconductors, AI and machine learning, Industry 4.0 and robotics, embedded systems and data centre technology — and the only agency here publishing a submission-to-placement ratio: 192 CVs submitted, 55 placed on one project, plus 210+ placements at NXP since 2014.
Strengths
- Published client-level placement data including conversion
- Five European offices
- Deep semiconductor and embedded networks
- Replacement commitment
Limitations
- Commercial roles sit alongside many engineering desks
- Machinery, energy and process sectors outside the focus
Antal International — the widest physical network

130 physical offices in more than 35 countries across five continents, headquartered in London, run as a franchise network with permanent, temporary, executive search and RPO services. For reach into Central and Eastern Europe and emerging markets, that network is the broadest on this page.
The franchise model is the thing to understand: quality and sector depth vary by office, because each one is a separate business. Ask about the specific office that would run your search rather than about the network.
Strengths
- 130 offices in 35+ countries — the widest physical network here
- Strong Central and Eastern European presence
- Full service range including RPO and executive search
Limitations
- Franchise model: depth and quality vary office by office
- No technical sales specialism named
- No placement or outcome statistics published
Worth a call for CEE and emerging markets. Evaluate the individual office, not the network.
BMS Performance — the UK technical sales veteran

Over thirty years recruiting technical sales across engineering, manufacturing, industrial, process, oil and gas, environmental and utilities — in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Long tenure in a narrow market is worth a great deal; it just does not extend to the continent.
Strengths
- Over 30 years in technical sales recruitment
- Deep UK industrial sector coverage
- Capacity for several concurrent UK roles
Limitations
- UK and Ireland only
- No outcome data published
- Testimonials without quantified results
Talent Place — Poland and CEE

Sales recruitment, team scaling, RPO and executive search, focused on Poland and the wider CEE region — a reasonable regional option for building a sales function there.
Strengths
- Genuine Poland and CEE depth
- Flexible models including RPO
- Local market knowledge
Limitations
- Sales generally rather than technical sales
- Regional rather than European
- No outcome data published
- Publishes an undisclosed self-ranking
A note on the agencies not profiled here
Robert Walters appears in most lists of large European recruiters and would belong in this one on size. We have not given it a profile because we were unable to read its site directly on the date of writing, and we do not publish facts about a company we could not verify. The same standard applies to every other large group we could not check: Morgan Philips, Nigel Wright Group, Carter Murray, Grafton, Stanton Chase and Mercuri Urval all operate in this market, and their absence here is a limit of this comparison, not a judgement.

The honest summary
The large groups win on reach and capacity, and the numbers say so: Antal states 130 offices in 35+ countries, Hays states 30 countries and over 10,000 employees. Nothing a specialist publishes comes close, and for multi-function hiring at scale they are the right answer.
What none of them names is technical or industrial sales as a specialism. Hays lists 21 specialisms and it is not among them; Michael Page splits Sales from Engineering & Manufacturing, and technical sales falls into the gap. That gap is the entire reason specialist desks exist, and it is why this page ranks a small agency above groups a thousand times its size for one specific kind of brief — and only for that one.
We rank our own operator first here. Check the claim the same way you should check everyone else's: ask for the twelve-month retention figure, the last three named placements with dates, and the off-limits list. Then call whichever agency above matches your actual constraint.
