The Sales Engineer supports sales growth by providing technical expertise, solution design, and customer-facing support throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with customers, distributors, and internal teams, this role helps identify customer requirements, develop practical and cost-effective solutions, and support successful implementation.

This role will support Sensitech, a Carrier business and a leading provider in this market, helping customers and channel partners identify and implement solutions that address their operational and technical requirements.

The position plays a key role in supporting regional sales strategies, strengthening relationships with key distributors, and converting opportunities into profitable business growth. The role will involve extensive travel across Europe and requires strong communication skills, including fluency in German and Italian.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams to identify customer requirements and develop technical solutions that align with commercial objectives.
• Support the achievement of sales and growth targets by providing pre-sales technical expertise and application support.
• Serve as a key technical resource for distributors, helping to build capability, strengthen relationships, and drive market development within the assigned territory.
• Maintain regular engagement with key distributors and channel partners to support opportunity development, customer retention, and business growth.
• Participate in customer meetings, site assessments, technical presentations, and solution discussions to support business development activities.
• Assist in the design, specification, and configuration of Sensitech products and services for customer applications.
• Prepare technical proposals, drawings, calculations, and supporting documentation as required.
• Collaborate with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational, technical, and commercial requirements.
• Support project planning activities, including equipment selection, material requirements, and implementation schedules.
• Coordinate with project management, operations, and service teams to facilitate successful project execution.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and provide recommendations to support project delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and handover activities where required.
• Deliver technical training and product knowledge support to customers, distributors, and sales colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records of opportunities, project activities, and customer interactions within company systems, including CRM tools.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support business planning and opportunity identification.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in sales engineering, solution architecture, technical sales support, project coordination, or a related field.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
• Fluency in German and Italian is required.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Effective communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across functions.
• Proficiency with standard business applications and CRM tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Europe, approximately 40% of the time.

• The ideal candidate will be based in Europe and comfortable with regular international travel across the region.
• The role requires approximately 40% travel across Europe.

• Experience supporting customers and distributors within industrial, food, cold chain, HVAC, refrigeration, or related markets.
• Experience working with channel partners and developing distributor relationships.
• Familiarity with project coordination and implementation processes.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
• Experience working across multiple European markets and cultures.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between £42,000.00-£84,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.   Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, CLA participation, market typical pay for the role, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
